'Paradise' became the band's first ever number one on the chart last month but faces stiff competition from Jessie J who is on the rise with 'Domino'.
Rizzle Kicks' effort 'Mama Do The Hump' was sitting comfortably inside the top ten last week and could also make a surge to the summit this weekend.
Taio Cruz will also be looking to make claim with his new single 'Troublemaker' after it was released this week.
Meanwhile, Coldplay could be in line to perform with Rihanna at next year's BRIT Awards ceremony after the Bajan star recently stated she would love to join forces on stage.
