The 'Call Me Maybe' singer says she and Justin are happy for each other's recent chart success.
Carly Rae Jepsen says she is enjoying the friendly competition that is developing between herself and mentor Justin Bieber.
The 26 year-old Canadian singer-songwriter, who's debut UK single 'Call Me Maybe' topped the Vodafone Big Top 40 on Sunday (8th April), says she really appreciates the support and advice 'Mistletoe' singer Justin has given her.
"The fact that we are able to have that friendly competition is blowing my mind," Carly told MTV News this week. "I wouldn't be here without his support and his help, and he is so great about it."
Justin released his own new single 'Boyfriend' on Sunday, which reached number two less than 24 hours after its release, but was kept off the top spot by his Schoolboy Records signing Carly.
"He's just happy for me, which is nice to see," Carly added, before joking: "We can share it: two #1s!"
Last week Carly confirmed that she and 'Never Say Never' singer Justin have recorded a duet together which fans will get the chance to hear "soon".
Earlier today Carly Rae Jepsen urged Justin Bieber to "hurry up" and release the music video for his worldwide hit single 'Boyfriend'.
