Shawn Mendes hilariously slid into a fan's DMs for the most iconic reason

Shawn Mendes hit up a fan after seeing a black and white edit of himself with an "awesome" looking butterfly tattoo. Needless to say, the interaction was perfection.

Getting a shout out, a retweet, or an interaction from your fave is no easy feat, but one Shawn Mendes fan managed to play it surprisingly cool after the star DM'd her with a very important question. Shawn Mendes recently slid into a fan's DMs for tattoo related reasons and, we can't lie, her response was iconic.

Recently, Twitter user @nasaruins shared a cute black and white edit of Shawn Mendes with a butterfly tattoo that looked pretty legit. The butterfly in the edit was apparently drawn by an artist who goes by @macdreaper on Instagram.

"Shawn Mendes with a butterfly tattoo. I rest my case," @nasaruins wrote on Twitter alongside the edit.

Funnily enough, Shawn came across the edit and responded publicly, asking @nasaruins to DM him the original drawing.

"Wait this is awesome, can u DM the drawing??"

@nasaruins shared screenshots of the DMs with Shawn and, in my opinion, she handled the situation like a total G.

Okay, raise your hand if "I'll do it again in a sec lmao i'm at the car wash" made you scream.

And the best part of the whole entire thing is that fact that he legit might get the tattoo.

At a fan Q&A, someone asked him whether he would consider actually getting the tattoo and he said yes! "I might have it in like a week," he told the crowd. If he gets the butterfly tattoo, its origins will certainly make for a GREAT story.
