The 'Criminal' star has also discussed some of the "pretty bad" auditions the panel has seen recently.
Britney Spears has spoken out about some of the "bizarre" performances The X Factor USA judges have seen during auditions in Kansas City this week, as well as talking about how being a performer helps her out on the panel.
The 'Criminal' singer joined fellow new addition Demi Lovato on this year's line-up, alongside returning judges Simon Cowell and LA Reid, and says they have seen some "pretty bad" auditions recently.
"I feel like we've had a little bit of, bizarre performances, overall," Britney told MTV News after watching auditions in Kansas City last week. 'There have been some good ones but, for the most part, there's been some ones that were, pretty bad!"
Despite not finding many contestants up to par in Kansas City, the 'I Wanna Go' star has said it can be a great feeling when they see an audition that impresses the whole panel.
"It is the best feeling when someone just comes on stage and makes us want to stand up, there's energy, it's great," she explained, before discussing how being an artist helps in her role as a judge. "I think it helps a lot, it helps us to relate to them a little bit more and understand where they're coming from because we've actually been in their shoes."
The X Factor UK judge Louis Walsh has joined the USA judging panel this week to cover for Simon Cowell, and Britney says she is already a fan of the Irish talent show judge.
She added: "He's a champ. I do [like him]."
The X Factor USA is set to launch in the US on FOX this summer.
