Britney Spears sued over perfume deal
Britney Spears is being sued for $10 million (£6.2 million) over her popular perfume range.
The singer and her father Jamie Spears, are facing a lawsuit from licensing firm Brand Sense Partners who claim they helped broker her deal with cosmetics giant Elizabeth Arden Inc. in 2004.
The company have filed a breach of contract suit in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging they have not been paid a 35 percent commission agreed upon in the deal.
According to Brand Sense, Spears asked Elizabeth Arden Inc. to send all royalties to her, deliberately cutting them out of all revenue, reports Rolling Stone.
The company is seeking punitive damages 'based on the wanton, willful and oppressive nature' of the Spears family's business conduct.
