Fergie Submits Legal Papers To Legally Change Her Name To Fergie Duhamel?

The 'Don't Stop The Party' singer is said to be trying to change her name to reflect her marriage and nickname.

Fergie has reportedly filed legal documents to officially change her name from Stacy Ann Ferguson.

According to TMZ, the Black Eyed Peas singer is choosing to change her name legally to Fergie Duhamel, to reflect her nickname with the hip-hop band as well as her marriage to actor Josh Duhamel.

Fergie wed Transformers star Josh back in 2009 but has seemingly kept her birth name, in legal terms, but now wants her legal status to reflect her marriage.

In court documents allegedly submitted to the Los Angeles County Superior Court this month the star also petitioned to change her first name, claiming she wants to "confirm to the first name which she is commonly and professionally known as, and has been for many years".

Fergie will have to submit a notice to a local paper for four consecutive weeks and attend a second hearing set for 16th August before the name change becomes legal.

Fergie and Josh Duhamel announced back in February that they are expecting their first child together.
