Beyonce To Receive Journalism Award For Essence Magazine Piece

The 'Love On Top' singer will pick up the prize this month for writing 'Eat, Play. Love' for the publication.

Beyonce will pick up an award for a piece she wrote in Essence Magazine entitled 'Eat, Play, Love' it has been announced.

The 'Crazy In Love' singer is set to receive the prize from The New York chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists later this month at the association's Scholarship and Awards Banquet on May 15 in New York.

The first-person piece appeared in the July 2011 issue of the publication and describes how life changing an experience it was taking a break from music.

The singer is currently preparing to make her live return to the stage at the end of the month after giving birth to her and Jay-Z's first child Blue Ivy at the start of 2012.

Meanwhile, the star's trainer recently opened up on the secrets to her post pregnancy body admitting Bey is in the gym five times a week.
