The 'Love On Top' singer's daughter weighed in at seven pounds and was delivered naturally despite previous reports it was via C-section.
The statement is located on Beyonce's Official website and describes how the birth was "emotional" and "peaceful".
"Hello Hello Baby Blue!
"We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.
"Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven.
"She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives.
"We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.
"Beyoncé & JAY Z," read the statement.
A new track 'Glory' was also added to the announcement after it was released earlier today (9th January) on Jay-Z's social website Life and Times.
A host of celebrity friends including Rihanna and Gwyneth Paltrow had been tweeting their congratulations for the past two days although there was no word from Beyonce and Jay-Z until this evening.
