The ‘Sweetener’ star and her boyfriend, Pete Davidson, pulled out of appearing at the Emmys following the death of her ex.
It’s not been an easy couple of years for Ariana Grande, and the star’s team have announced she will be taking some time out of the spotlight in order to heal after her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller’s unexpected death.

Ariana and her fiancé Pete Davidson were due to be guests at the Emmys last night, but the couple pulled out due to the tragic event, and Ariana’s team released a statement saying she would be taking some time out.
The statement reads, “Contrary to reports, Ariana will not be attending the Emmys tonight. Pete has also opted to not attend to be with her in New York.
“Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend. She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding."
The awards were 10 days after Mac’s death, and Saturday Night Live which Pete stars on ended up winning big, but he stayed away in solidarity with his fiancée.
Ariana and Mac were together for two years before splitting earlier this year, and the singer had already suffered the loss of 22 of her fans during a deadly terrorist attack at her concert in Manchester last year.
