Ariana Grande also warned fans that she may have to cancel even more Sweetener Tour dates.
Ariana Grande has apologised for cancelling her Sweetener Tour concert she was supposed to perform in Lexington, Kentucky last night. The show would have been her 85th show this year.
Crying in a video which she posted on Instagram yesterday (Nov 17), Ariana explained: "So I woke up kind of 10 times worse and it hurts so bad to swallow. I'm not really sure what's going on but I, unfortunately, don't think I'll be able to push through tonight and I'm so sorry. I'm so upset." She then added: "Obviously, you'll be refunded etc... but I'm just really devastated. Thank you for understanding and sending love. I'll keep you posted as soon as I know what's going on with my body."

Before uploading the video, Ariana revealed how sick she is and that she may have to cancel even more shows.
On Saturday (Nov 16), Ariana shared a lengthy note on her Instagram stories. She wrote: "so i'm still very sick. i've been sick since the last london show. i don't know how it's possible but my throat and head are still in so much pain. i sound okay i'm just in a lot of pain and it's difficult to breathe during the show. i'm seeing my doctor and trying my v best to get better for tomorrow's show. the last thing i would ever want to do is cancel a show at this point with so few left."
She continued: "i'm truly cherishing every moment of this. i just really don't know what's happening with my body right now and need to figure it out. please take this as a gentle heads up... i don't want anyone to feel blindsided tomorrow if god forbid i can't make the show happen. i'm on all the meds. getting IV drips, doing everything i possibly can to pull through. mom and friends are taking care of me. just a scary feeling. love you with all my heart".
Despite cancelling the show in Lexington, Ariana's fans were very understanding. One concertgoer tweeted: "if you came to lexington for tonight’s show we’re gonna have a fan meet up for lunch. dm me if you wanna join. we’re gonna make today a fun day!" Ariana then responded to the tweet with a black heart emoji. Hours later a video of Arianators singing 'R.E.M.' at the gathering went viral and Ariana retweeted it writing: "oh my heart".
Ariana also tweeted: "crying. i cant tell u how much i love and appreciate u all or like effectively express what a blessing it is to have u in my life." She then carried on: "thank u for your kindness and love. wish i were with u today more than anything. u have no idea." In a final tweet, she wrote: "it sucks feeling like absolute shit but it sucks way more to not be with u all. u mean the world. i hope u truly know. love u."
