The 'Someone Like You' singer wowed the O2 Arena with her first UK performance in several months.
Adele made her triumphant return to the BRIT Awards last night (21st February) where she picked up two gongs as well as making her live UK return with a show-stopping performance of 'Rolling In The Deep'.
23 year-old Adele was the first winner of the night at London's O2 Arena yesterday when she picked up Best British Female over peers including Jessie J and Laura Marling. Adele took to the stage to accept the award from presenter Kylie Minogue where she gave her record company special thanks for letting her "be the kind of artist I wanted to be'.
Fresh off her six-gong win at the Grammy Awards last weekend (12th February) Adele also gave her first performance in the UK since undergoing laser microsurgery on her vocal chords in November 2011.
One year after her career-defining performance of 'Someone Like You' at the BRITs 2011, Adele returned to the stage to belt out her Big Top 40 hit 'Rolling In The Deep'. The 'Set Fire To the Rain' singer gave a near pitch-perfect rendition of the international chart-topper, and her performance was well received by the live audience at London's O2.
Adele's BRITs success continued when she picked up her second award of the night, and third overall after winning the Critics Choice award back inn 2008, after her sophomore album '21' was named Best British Album. Adele won in the highly competitive category, which also featured Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Florence and the Machine and PJ Harvey, and was presented with the gong by 'Faith' singer George Michael.
However, while accepting her BRIT Award and starting to tell the crowd how proud she was to be British, Adele was cut off by host James Corden who apologized and explained that they were out of time. Adele later said sorry to fans for giving the middle finger while she left the stage, and explained that her gesture had been aimed at "the suits" for cutting her off and not allowing her to thank fans for all of their support.

ITV and the BRIT Awards have since issued a statement sending Adele their "deepest apologies" over the incident, explaining that it had been due to the show over-running.
"We don’t want this to undermine her incredible achievement in winning her incredible award," they said in the statement. "We would like to apologise to Adele for the interruption."
