The 'We Found Love' star came under attack following a gig in the country.
Rihanna has claimed that she was racially abused while in Portugal over the weekend.
The 'We Found Love' star, who was in the country on her 'Loud' tour, said she was victimised as she went to leave her hotel.
In a message on Twitter, Rihanna wrote: "I just met the most racist **** EVER!!!"
She then went on to list all the offensive words she was called, before telling her followers that she retaliated against the person.
Rihanna's gig in Portugal came during the final stages of her 'Loud' tour, which is due to conclude with the last three of ten gigs at London's O2 Arena this week.
In addition to playing her own gigs, RiRi has also made a number of festival appearances.
Meanwhile, Rihanna has unveiled a teaser from the video for her new single 'You Da One'. The star shot the video for 'You Da One' in London earlier this month and is also expected to feature scenes shot in Ireland.
