Rihanna and Katy Perry are among a huge number of musical stars who have paid tribute to Glee star Cory Monteith, who was found dead at the age of 31 over the weekend.
The Canadian actor, best known for portraying lead character Finn Hudson on the popular FOX musical show, was found dead in his hotel room on Saturday afternoon (13th July) after failing to check out on time.
The likes of Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato have also taken to Twitter to pay their condolences to the popular actor, who starred on the Glee show since its pilot episode back in 2009.
"Rest in peace Cory. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. Our prayers are with you," Katy Perry tweeted, while Rihanna posted the following: "Cory Monteith, may your spirit be at peace and may you fly with angels. Heartbreaking, my prayers are with all of his loved ones!
"This hurts. I love you Cory. Rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family," Selena tweeted shortly after hearing the tragic news, while Demi added: "#RIPCoryMonteith… So unbelievably tragic. Please #PrayForLea."
One Direction star Niall Horan also posted in honour of the actor when he tweeted out to his followers: "RIP cory! Didn't know him personally! Met him on a couple of occasions! Super nice guy! Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends! X"

Police have yet to confirm the cause of death but an autopsy is expected to take place at some point today (15th July).
Cory Monteith was also known for a starring role in the 2011 rom-com Monte Carlo, in which he starred opposite Selena Gomez and Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester.
