The 'Talk That Talk' star approached the 127 Hours actor about appearing in 2011 video.
Hollywood actor James Franco has revealed that Rihanna asked him to appear in the video for 'We Found Love'.
The official video, which was released last year, saw model Dudley O'Shaughnessy play the role of RiRi's boyfriend in a disruptive relationship.
Speaking to MTV News, James said he was a big fan of Rihanna and that she initially approached him about starring in the video.
"She actually asked me to be in that video, the one with the relationship that gets crazy," he said. "I couldn't do it. But, I guess, I hope that that means there's mutual love between us."
Earlier this year, Rihanna admitted to Capital FM that she was a massive fan of James Franco when asked which actors she admired.
"Always, always wanted to work with Seth Rogan," she said. "I think he is so funny. Even if he's not in the film, all of his movies are funny.
"They're the comedies I watch a thousand times besides Borat, of course, and everything that Sacha Baron Cohen does. Seth Rogan, Sacha, [and] James Franco is funny as hell."
Meanwhile, James Franco released unveiled a video of him lip-synching along to Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe'.
