The 'Where Have You Been' singer says she feels "hurt" to let fans down who were set to see her in concert.
Rihanna says she is "so embarrassed" and feels bad for her fans after having to postpone the second show of her 'Diamonds' world tour due to illness.
The 'We Found Love' star was forced to pull out of a scheduled performance in Boston on Sunday (10th March), the second night of her new tour, after contracting laryngitis.
"Unfortunately, following her sold out concert on Friday, Rihanna has contracted laryngitis and per doctor's instruction is unable to perform this evening," a Live Nation spokesperson confirmed, after the news initially broke.
Rihanna then took to Twitter on Sunday evening to lament the news and admitting she feels "hurt" to have let down fans who had been looking forward to the show.
"#BOSTON this is the hardest thing for me to deal with! I feel like we've been waiting on this day forever, and I'm hurt that I let you down," Rihanna tweeted. "I hate disappointing people that never ever let me down!!
"I'm so embarrassed about this!" the 'Stay' singer added. "Thank you for your prayers and all wishes!"

Rihanna kicked off her 'Diamonds' world tour with a show in Buffalo, New York on Friday (8th March) and will perform an expected total of 71 dates across the whole trip.
