Rihanna has been warned not to reconcile with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown by friends, according to reports.

It follows reports that the former couple have reunited nearly three years after Chris assaulted the 'We Found Love' star.

Speculation grew further overnight when Rihanna wrote a cryptic message on Twitter: "How can you lie to her, while u lay with me???.....If you don't have an answer, you don't have to answer."

The Sun reports that Rihanna's friends have aired their concerns about a possible reconciliation between the couple.

A source said: "Despite everything that has happened RiRi has not stopped loving Chris.

"They have been in constant contact for some time and things seemed to be stepping up a gear in recent weeks. Many thought these public declarations of love on Twitter were paving the way for an official reconciliation."

"She has been warned by pals not to get involved in such a destructive relationship again but she just can't let go."

Earlier this week, it was claimed that one of Rihanna's new year's resolutions included finding a new man.

Meanwhile, RiRi is currently scheduled to play only one gig in 2012 at the Wireless Festival in London in July.
