One Direction's Zayn Malik Says Perrie Edward's Mum Did His Blonde Hair Streak

The 'Gotta Be You' singer says his new look was a spare of the moment decision because he wanted a change.

One Direction's Zayn Malik has opened up about deciding to dye a blonde streak in his hair and says it was actually Little Mix star Perrie Edwards' mum who did the deed.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' singer debuted his blonde streak at the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony earlier this summer and has sported it ever since, revealing this week that girlfriend Perrie's hairdresser mum offered to put in the highlight for him.

"Yeah. I probably should have passed it with someone but I didn't," Zayn revealed during an appearance on Irish TV show The Story So Far "I just cut it. I was sat at home and just decided I wanted a bit of a blonde streak.

"My girlfriend's mum did it for me. She's a hairdresser so it was cool."

Zayn's bandmate Liam Payne also spoke about his recent change of style, after opting to shave his hair off, and admitted it was more of a spare of the moment decision.
