One Direction's Zayn Malik On His Image: "I Am A Bit Of A Bad Boy"

The 'Gotta Be You' singer says he doesn't mind being the "misunderstood" member of the boy band.

One Direction star Zayn Malik has admitted he is a "bit of a bad boy" but says he prefers it when people use the term "misunderstood" to describe him.

The 'One Thing' singer says he is comfortable his image as the bad one of One Direction, after getting a number of tattoos done over the past year.

"I like the term misunderstood," Zayn revealed in Seventeen magazine's November issue. "But I am a bit of a bad boy.

"I have tattoos and I mess around," the boy band star explained. "That's part of my image, so it's cool."

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' singer also described himself as a very "straightforward" personal who dislikes it when people try to play mind games and manipulate you.

"Me being who I am, I'm very straightforward," he added. "Everything is black and white for me. I don't really like playing mind games."

In the same interview bandmate Liam Payne opened up on his recent split from girlfriend Danielle Peazer, and admitted he had been left "devastated" by the break-up last month.

One Direction were celebrating this month after 'Live While We're Young' became the fastest selling single by a UK artist on the US chart, while their next album 'Take Me Home' is expected to officially drop on 12th November.
