The 'Gotta Be You' singers say the crowd was "unbelievable" for the first night of their headline UK tour.
One Direction have described their UK tour launch in Wolverhampton last night (21st December) as "incredible".
The five-piece boy band kicked off their 'Up All Night' headlining tour this week and will perform a further 20 shows across the country through to the end of January.
"Wolverhampton… you were amazing tonight," Harry Styles tweeted yesterday. "Great to be in Liam's hometown. The crowd was unbelievable. Thank you. xx
"Absolute loved the gig tonight. Love you all X," Louis Tomlinson posted, after declaring the performance "party time" earlier in the night.
Fellow One Direction star Zayn Malik thanked the band's fans for being "incredible" throughout the concert, after many had waited hours to get into the venue early.
One Direction surprised the concert audience when they included several notable covers in their set including songs by Amy Winehouse, Kings of Leon and Black Eyed Peas.
