The 'Gotta Be You' singer says his bandmate struggles to deal with fame and the online abuse it comes with.
One Direction star Liam Payne has admitted he sometimes worries about his bandmate Zayn Malik coping with fame, because of the online abuse he has received on Twitter in the past.
'One Thing' singer Zayn memorably quit Twitter for several days earlier this summer after receiving abuse from online trolls, and Liam says he hasn't "quite adjusted" to everything that comes with being part of a famous band yet.
"The only person I really worry about is Zayn," Liam revealed to The Sun this week. "Because I don't think he's quite accustomed to all of this.
"He's had a terrible time on Twitter, as did Danielle [Peazer]," Liam explained, referring to his ex-girlfriend. "I don't think he's quite adjusted to it yet, I'm sure he'll get it.
He's my best mate. I've got to look out for him," he added.

'What Makes You Beautiful' singer Liam went on to say he hopes the band can all remain "best mate" even when One Direction inevitably split one day in the future.
Liam added: "There is going to be a time when it all finishes and I just hope we stay mates."
This past Sunday One Direction scored a new number one on the Vodafone Big Top 40 with their brand new single 'Live While We're Young'.
One Direction are currently preparing for their return with second album 'Take Me Home', which is due to be released on 12th November.
