The two boy bands will perform a mash-up of their tracks on stage at the ITV1 show's live final at Wembley Arena.
One Direction and JLS have formed a super-group for this weekend's live final of The X Factor where they will team up on stage for a duet, a spokesperson for the show has confirmed.
The two boy bands, both of which rose to fame on the ITV1 series, have been recording a mash-up of One Direction's 'What Makes You Beautiful' and JLS' 'She Makes Me Wanna', for a surprise performance together.
"It's no secret that 1D and JLS have been booked for the final – but we're ratcheting things up a notch" a source on The X Factor told The Sun. "The lads though it5 would be a great idea if they all did a song together.
"Producers worked out that it would probably be best if they used their own songs."
Both bands are said to have been "locked down" in a London recording studio on Tuesday (6th December) to work on the collaboration.
The source added: "The songs go well together. It could change but that's where we are right now."
After teaming up on this year's charity single on The X Factor, a cover of Rose Royce's 'Wishing On A Star', JLS star Aston Merrygold told Capital the two groups are planning a "crazy" collaboration together.
The live final will air over two days this weekend as remaining finalists Little Mix, Marcus and Amelia Lily all compete to be crowned The X Factor 2011 champion.
Coldplay, Michael Buble and Leona Lewis are also all expected to perform for the event.
The X Factor live final will take place at Wembley Arena and is set to air over the 10th and 11th December.
