The Xtra Factor host has spoken out about her kiss with the boy band star for the first time.
One Direction star Harry Styles reportedly helped Caroline Flack deal with the death threats she received from his fans in the wake of their kiss.
The Xtra Factor host shared a kiss with Harry during a party in October, after which she received a torrent of angry messages on Twitter from One Direction fans.
"He told me, 'Don't listen to Twitter'," Caroline said, regarding the 17 year-old boy band member. "So he became the mature one at that point."
Caroline has spoken out for the first time about the kiss and feels she has done nothing wrong, despite their 14 year age gap.
"It's a social thing that people aren't accepting of big age gaps," she told Now magazine. "I keep thinking, 'What have I don’t wrong?' But I haven't done anything wrong.
"What's hard for me to get my head around is people saying it's disgusting. I don't think it is."
The TV presenter says she doesn't see why people find it so negative and felt threats from fans on Twitter "went too far".
"I knew they were just a minority of One Direction fans and all very young – it's a kind of fanatical obsession. I can't take it seriously or I'd never come out of my house."
One Direction performed at Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball on Sunday (4th December) in a three-song set that brought many fans at the O2 Arena to tears.
