The US star is said to be worried her new album will suffer if she returns to the show.
Nicole Scherzinger has reportedly said she is "torn" about whether or not to return for a second series of The X Factor UK.
The 'Boomerang' singer is said to be conflicted about whether she can come back to the ITV show if she has a new album to promote towards the end of this year.
"I'm so torn right now," Nicole said, according to The Sun. "My heart wants me to come back and do the show as I had such a great time last year.
"But my album is coming out and I also need to focus on that," the star explained. "I don't think I can make it work.
"By trying to juggle the two, one or both will suffer," she added.
The 'Try With Me' singer is said to be worried about taking on both commitments and then having to head out to the US to promote her album during The X Factor's new series.
"I recall Kelly [Rowland] getting some harsh criticism when she went back to LA and missed a show," Nicole explained. "I don't want that to happen with me, as I love working with my acts."

The X Factor UK is expected to announce its confirmed judging panel for 2013 in the coming months.
