Mariah Carey To Release New Album This Summer?

The 'Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel' star posts a cryptic message for her fans on Twitter.

Mariah Carey has sparked speculation that she is set to release a new album this summer.

The 'Without You' star released her last studio album 'Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel' in 2009, and has since started a family with husband Nick Cannon.

In a message on Twitter, Mariah said she had been working new songs in the studio and was ready to share them with her fans.

She wrote: "So.. Summer 2012.. Been in the lab, mixing up some concoctions for you, hope you like it!! ‪#MCSummer2012."

Fans had already been expecting new music from the singer after her husband Nick revealed that their twins had been inspiring Mariah in the studio.

Mariah also posted the following picture on Twitter, warning her users to be ready for a big announcement:



"Our new family has definitely given her a great new source of inspiration and creativity," he said.

Last year, Mariah teamed up with Justin Bieber on a new version of her festive hit, 'All I Want For Christmas'.
