The 'DNA' stars say One Direction have "opened the gates" for them to make their mark stateside next year.
Little Mix have promised to bring "girl power" to America in 2013 and say they want to emulate the success of One Direction stateside when they head over to the US next year.
The 'Wings' four-piece arrived in the UK with their debut album this year, and say the time is right for a UK girl band to make it big across the pond, after saying One Directon have "opened the gate" in 2012.
"I think One Direction really opened the gate. With them [and] artists like Adele coming through America it's been such a British year," Jade revealed to MTV News this week. "With the Olympics and the whole royal family thing and all that stuff I think everyone's just jumping on board Britain at the moment.
"It's nice to see and hopefully they'll still be waiting for us come next year," Jade explained, while fellow band member Jesy Nelson added: "Obviously the boys have been dominating this year and it's about time we get girl power in there. So that's our aim for next year."
The 'DNA' four-piece went on to say that Perrie Edwards' relationship with One Direction star Zayn Malik is a good thing for their fans, who are often usually just as big a fan of One Direction as they are of Little Mix.
"I think when we are on X Factor anyway, a lot of our fans were One Direction fans before Perrie and Zayn even got together," Jade added. "So we already had a lot of support from the 1D fans.
"I think when Perrie and Zayn did get together everyone was supportive of it and really kind of happy that two of their favourite bands were kind of getting together."
