The 'Marry The Night' star will host an event at Harvard University.
Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation will launch in February at Harvard University according to the singer's mother and co-founder Cynthia Germanotta.
The 'Bad Romance' star will also be joined by her partners in the project - Harvard's Berkman Center for Internet and Society, the MacArthur Foundation and the California Endowment.
In a statement released today (19th January) from the 'You & I' singer's mother, Gaga's passion and will to create a better world were the reasons for starting the foundation.
"My daughter's foundation was born out of her passion to create a better world where people are kinder and nicer to one another and are accepted for who they are, regardless of how different they may be," said Cynthia.
"She has experienced many of the struggles that our youth encounter today, and identifies with the lasting effects they can have without proper support.
"Together, we look forward to creating a new movement that will engage and empower youth and accept them as valuable members of our society," she added.
Meanwhile, the singer has been recognisded for her campaigning work for gay rights with a nomination at the GLAAD Media Awards 2012.
