The 'Stronger' star messed up the opening lines to the track.
Kelly Clarkson covered The White Stripes song 'Seven Nation Army' during a live performance earlier this week.
The former American Idol winner surprised fans when she included the track during her performance at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
Kelly introduced the song by saying: "This is one of my favorite songs I've ever covered. I hope you like it."
But her rendition was not without its hitches – the star forgot the opening lyrics to the track and joked that she would "get the words right this time".
Kelly released her latest studio album 'Stronger' last year and is due to embark on a tour in support of the album in 2012.
