Katy Perry Caught Out Miming The Recorder At US Gig

The 'Teenage Dream' star was trying to fool fans with a version of Jay-Z's 'Big Pimpin'.

Katy Perry has been caught out miming playing the recorder at a gig in America.

The 'Teenage Dream' singer was attempting to play along to Jay-Z's 'Big Pimpin' when she moved the recorder away from her mouth but the instrument continued to make noise.

An embarrassed Katy then pretended to cry and told the crowd: "So I learnt that I can't play the flute."

However, the star has since revealed that she was in on the joke.

In a message on Twitter, she wrote:  "P.s. Fail to all of you who fell for my scripted flute joke #Iminonthejokebooya."

Katy is currently coming to the conclusion of the final US leg of her 'California Dreams' world tour, which has been in support of her second album 'Teenage Dream'.
