Katy Perry And John Mayer Break Up For The Second Time?

The 'Teenage Dream' singer is said to have parted from the US star this month.

Katy Perry and John Mayer have reportedly split up for the second time because of the pair's hectic work schedules.

According to fresh reports, the couple, who first got together in summer last year, have called time on their relationship but are keeping the door open for a potential reconciliation when their time frees up more.

"It's sad," a source told Us Weekly while breaking news of the alleged split. "It's not over until it's over. 

"You have to see how things play out," they explained, while another source blamed their hectic work schedules for the break-up. "She's leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work."

The two were first spotted out together back in June 2012 before ended things soon after in August, but were later being pictured out and about at various events around September time.

Since then the two have been nearly inseparable, accompanying each other to several awards shows and taking trips away together during their time off.

Last week it was rumoured that 'Firework' singer Katy was set to reveal all about her marriage to Russell Brand in a tell-all autobiography, but a representative for the US star has since denied the claims.

Katy Perry is currently writing and recording for her third studio album out in Los Angeles.
