The 'Boyfriend' star admits hearing about the death of Avalanna Routh was the "worst news ever".
Justin Bieber has confessed that he received "the worst news ever" after learning about the death of six year-old fan Avalanna Routh.
The 'As Long As You Love Me' singer met Avallanna on a special Valentine's Day date earlier this year, after she became affectionately known around the world as "Mrs. Justin Bieber".
The young fan was suffering from a rare brain cancer when her hospital helped spark a social media frenzy, mocking a pretend wedding to Justin and posting a picture of her stood next to a poster of the teen star with the message "just married" underneath.
Upon hearing of the photo, Justin arranged a special meeting with Avalanna, calling the experience the best thing he had ever done.
Yesterday (26th September), he took to his Twitter account to pay tribute to the six –year-old.
"just got the worst news ever. one of the greatest spirits i have ever known is gone. please pray for her family and for her," he tweeted, adding: "RIP Avalanna. i love you."
"please show respect to her and her family. say a prayer for her and for them. i miss her."
He also uploaded a picture of the pair during their meeting with the message: "my angel."
Avalanna suffered from an atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor and was diagnosed when she was just nine months old.
Meanwhile, Justin recently performed his single 'As Long As You Love Me' on Dancing With The Stars wearing an all-leather outfit.
