The 'She Makes Me Wanna' stars open up about their "edgier" fourth record ahead of its release.

JLS have been teasing more details from their forthcoming new studio album 'Evolution', revealing they want to bring R&B back to the masses.

The former X Factor stars have already unveiled the lead single from the record, 'Hottest Girl In The World', and confessed the rest of the album is equally as "edgy".

"Evolution is edgier, more R&B. We went back to basics, making a record of how we want to sound for the next few years, hence the Evolution title," Marvin Humes told the Daily Star.

JB Gill added: "We see ourselves as ambassadors, bringing UK R&B back to the masses."

The band admitted that their songs are also aimed at tackling more "mature" subjects as they want to cater for both male and female markets.

"We're tackling more mature subjects, as we wanted to speak for the guys as well as serenading the girls," said Aston Merrygold.

"There's more attitude. The common thread is that we're saying just what we wanted to," added Oritse Williams.

The band will release new album 'Evolution' on 5th November, with new single 'Hottest Girl In The World' available to download on 21st October.

Meanwhile, JLS were recently seen pulling a prank on their close friend Olly Murs where Aston was fired out of a cannon.
