The 'Nobody's Perfect' singer also says she is sure the 'A Team' singer will win at least one award at the BRITs in February.
Jessie J says she is "so proud" of Ed Sheeran following his four nominations for the BRIT Awards 2012.
The 'Domino' singer received three nods during last week's BRITs party, while 'Lego House' singer Ed scored four, and Jessie says she couldn't be happier for the 20 year-old singer-songwriter.
"I'm so happy. Me and him were on the circuit together a long time ago and I used to see him gig," Jessie told Capital's Rich Clarke and Kat Shoob. "I remember going to all the underground events and being like, 'this guy is amazing'.
"I remember we were trying to get a deal in American at the same time, always crossing paths," she explained. "It's nice to see people that you not just respect their music but you genuinely like as a person and you see them as a mate. So I'm really really proud of him."
The 'Who You Are' singer also admitted she "can't wait" to see him perform at the BRIT Awards ceremony next month.
She added: "I know he's going to win at least one."
Earlier this week Jessie confirmed there are plans in place for the two artists to record a duet at some point this year.
Jessie J scored her second Vodafone Big Top 40 number one on Sunday (15th January) with her latest single 'Domino'.
