The 'Fight For You' star returned to the stage following his horrific neck injury to debut new song 'Undefeated'
Jason Derulo took to the stage during the final of American Idol last night (22nd May) to perform his new song 'Undefeated' and mark his return to live performing after breaking his neck at the start of the year.
The 'It Girl' star premiered the track for the first time - which he has been working on with fans of the show and in partnership with Coca Cola's 'Perfect Harmony' programme.
The singer only came out of his neck brace two weeks ago after fracturing his neck during rehearsals for his now cancelled world tour and took to his Twitter account to profess how pleased he was to be back.
Before the show he tweeted: "1st time performing since my neck injury 2night on idol finale! THANK YOU to the fans that help me write this song #UNDEFEATED"
He then later added that he dedicated the song to those who have faced hard times.
"My American Idol performance is dedicated 2 any1 who's fallen so deep that they didn't think they could bounce back, " he wrote, before adding: "Everything happens 4 a reason, find its purpose & make it positive! Anything is possible! #UNDEFEATED"
The star began his performance sat in a chair before joining in with a light dance routine and was eventually lifted on a rising platform with pyrotechnics shooting from the sides.
The final of the music reality series saw contestants Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips go head to head with the results occurring tonight (23rd May) as well as a performance of 'Where Have You Been' by Bajan star Rihanna.
