The 'Stay Awake' rapper is pleased to have inked a deal across the pond as he sets his sights on cracking America.
Example has signed up to a major record deal in the US with music label Mercury/Universal.
The 'Kickstarts' star confessed that he was pleased to have joined the label because they were able to match his creative ambitions.
In a statement from the rapper he said: "It was important to me to sign with someone who understands not only my ambitions but also the way I work. I want to do it on my own terms, I enjoy a good challenge and can't wait to get started."
The label are equally excited to be working with the British star who last night (12th January) received a nomination for Best British Single at the BRIT Awards 2012.
President of Mercury Records U.S David Massey admitted that everyone was looking forward to working with the star who they believe is a "modern day rock star".
He said: Everyone here is very excited to be working with Example, a world class songwriter and performer who is now a leading force in the live arena.
"A true modern day rock star who is at the forefront of the new wave of exciting electronic music exploding here in the U.S"
Meanwhile, Example is set to head out on his headline UK tour in April and has been tweeting pictures of himself swimming with sharks and playing golf as he enjoys a winter vacation in Australia.
