The British star will go up against the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen and Kelly Clarkson for Song Of The Year.
Ed Sheeran has been named among the list of nominations for next year's Grammy Awards 2013.
The British star has received a nod for Song Of The Year for his smash hit single 'The A Team' and faces competition from the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen with 'Call Me Maybe' and Fun. with 'We Are Young'.
The American trio are among a host of acts receiving the most nominations at the Awards including Mumford & Sons, Jay-Z and Kanye West - all picking up a total of six nominations.
The Best Album category also features Fun, with 'Some Nights' going up against Frank Ocean's 'Channel Orange', Jack White's 'Blunderbuss', Mumford & Sons with 'Babel' and The Black Keys' effort 'El Camino'.
Other stars up for some of the biggest awards on the night include Kelly Ckarkson, Taylor Swift and Gotye who all made the shortlist for Record Of The Year.
The Best New Artist category also features both Fun. and Frank Ocean with Carly Rae Jepsen surprisingly missing out on a nomination.
Rihanna also scooped a total of three nominations at the ceremony in Los Angeles last night (5th December) including for Best Short Form Music Video with her Vodafone Big Top 40 number one 'We Found Love'.
The Grammy Awards 2012 were dominated by Adele, and she has the chance to add to her collection next year after picking up a nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance with a live rendition of her '21' track 'Set Fire To The Rain'.
The Grammy Awards 2013 nominations concert was hosted by rap star LL Cool J and country star Taylor Swift and featured performances by the likes of Maroon 5 and Ne-Yo.
