The 'Criminal' singer is apparently in the final stages of negotiations to join the music reality show's second season.
Britney Spears is apparently close to signing up as a judge on the new series of The X Factor USA for a reported $15 million.
According to E! Online, the 'Toxic' singer has finalised an agreement on the fee and is ready to work out the finer details to join the show.
A source told the website: "Both camps were back and forth on the money but now they have finally come to agreement on the fee. That was the big sticking point and now, thankfully, it's been sorted.
"All they need to do now is work out the smaller points. The fact the money is now set, means that there is nothing stopping this from becoming a reality."
Last month, Simon Cowell was questioned on the American singer's involvement on the show with him teasing that fans will "have to wait and see" if she is to make an appearance.
The 'Me Against The Music' singer had already reportedly turned down a $10 million deal earlier in the year to join the panel following the dismissal of Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.
