The 'Countdown' star will voice a character in the new Blue Sky Studios animated film.
The first trailer for new animated film Epic, which stars Beyonce in her first voice acting role, has been released online.
The 'Love On Top' singer was confirmed earlier this month for the role of Queen Tara in the new Blue Sky Studios film, from the makes of the popular Ice Age series of animated films.
Epic follows the story of a teenage girl who is transported to a secret world in a forest, where she is forced to join a battle between good and evil alongside a group of characters from the natural world.
The film is directed by Chris Wedge and also features the voice talents of Mean Girls star Amanda Seyfried, Jackass star Johnny Knoxville, actor Colin Farrell and The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson.
Epic will be Beyonce's first acting role since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy at the start of this year, following reports that the '1+1' singer was seeking advice from friend Gwyneth Paltrow about a return to the big screen.
Beyonce has previously starred in Hollywood films Austin Powers In Goldmember, The Pink Panther and Dreamgirls.
