'The Back To Black' album cover garment fetched more than expected when it went under the hammer yesterday.
Amy Winehouse's dress was sold at auction for £36,000 yesterday (29th November).
The outfit had been expected to make around £20,000 at London's La Galleria auctions, but interest was far greater than first predicted.
The late singer's father, Mitch Winehouse, announced the news via his Twitter account.
"We raised £36,000 for Amy's back 2 black dress. Lots of kids will benefit," he tweeted.
The dress was sold in order to raise funds for the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
Meanwhile, a new album of previously unreleased material from the 'Rehab' singer, 'Lioness: Hidden Treasures', is due for release on 5th December.
